The Pets Best claims process was easy and quick.

The Pets Best claims process was very easy and quick! I was appreciative of the email I received notifying me of a slight delay in the process. I was surprised to receive a policy update letter just days later increasing my rates significantly. That was quite disappointing as we've been loyal customers and this was our first time placing a claim.

You made a big difference in my dog's life.

We didn't know what was wrong with my Maltese-Poodle mix, a rescue. She kept having diarrhea. We changed her diet and that helped a bit, but not enough. The vet wanted her to have an ultrasound, which costs $859 in CA. I am retired and on a fixed income and couldn't have gone ahead with Josie's ultrasound if it hadn't been for Pets Best. You paid my claim within two weeks of my filing it, and since I had met my annual deductible, I got most of the money I spent back. You made a big difference in my dog's life, and mine, too. Plus, the ultrasound showed what was wrong and we are now addressing it. Josie will be just fine!

Claims process is satisfactory.

I had submitted a claim for a visit to the vet as my dog was not behaving well, vomiting a few times at home. Brought to the vet for check up and treated with some antibiotics. He is well now. Waiting time for the claim to process is less than a week which is very satisfactory.

fast processing of claims. Great people at the help desk every time I have needed something. Even though we could probably save $ specifically for vet bills etc. having this ins. has sure come in handy since our dog has had THREE ACL replacements.

Doesn’t cover a lot, only extremes

Twice now I have gotten shorted from this health insurance. They don’t cover any preventive issues nor do they cover the cost of a doctors visit.

having Nationwide pet insurance for my dog is a secure feeling

I reviewed many pet ins policies prior to deciding on Nationwide. During open enrollment at work I found out that their plan was offered as a voluntary benefit. After reading the policy and talking to someone at the office I just felt I couldn't go wrong with this one. Managing routine preventative care for my dog was not my primary concern although the wellness coverage for this is very good. It was the unexpected illness or injury that I was worried about. Thankfully, my dog has been quite healthy but I like the feeling that if she becomes sick or gets injured I won't need to fret over the expense. Instead I can expend my energy caring for my dog. Claim forms are simple to fill out, and you can get reimbursement electronically right into your bank acct. I think it takes about 30 days ? No longer, it seems like a reasonable turn around time to me . And after submitting and being reimbursed for a few claims now I feel secure that the company pays for what they say they will.

Slow processing time, too many claims denied

Don’t get me wrong, insuring my pet with Nationwide has paid for itself, but there are so many claims denied. If more information is needed, they take the wole 30 days to tell you that and the process starts all over again. My pet has had a lot of medical issues, but I don’t think about this insurance plan would benefit a normal, healthy pet.
