Unexpected severe price hikes

I had insured my rottweiler mix for 4 years with Embrace, and never filed a claim. Each year, my premium went up by 12-17%, which is expected. The 5th year, my premium went up by 35%! I was on an auto renewal plan. I looked on their website, which listed an email address to contact with complaints. I emailed that address 3 days before my auto-renew. I didn't hear anything back. They withdrew the annual premium from my bank account. When I called several days later after seeing the withdrawal from my bank account, they told me they had no idea what email address I was talking about; I had to tell them where it was listed on their own website. They said they never got my email. They did refund my premium when I said I was cancelling. They said that the price hike was because of my dog getting older, and that they'd adjusted their prices due to market changes. But 35% is crazy! My policy went from six hundred and change per year to nine hundred dollars per year in one jump. If you use them, look very carefully at your bills.

Could not be more happy

My dog has a heart condition and it was realized when he was 7 months old getting neutered. He has an irregular heartbeat and medication and vet checks were required to understand the issue. I purchased Pets Best right when I purchased my puppy at 12 weeks and I could not be more happy with the result. I never wanted to say no to a procedure or a health issue and I'm so glad that Pets Best has been able to help support the health and happiness of not only my dog, but my family.

Very happy with Nationwide Pet Insurance

I have been very happy with Nationwide. It’s nice knowing I have insurance if something serious happens to my puppy.

Rough start, but easy once you understand what they require.

Fantastic insurance, a little on the pricey side but worth it. They covered a great deal of my expenses with my puppy for just about everything minus grooming related things. The only thing that sucks is that they don't exactly tell you what they need from you before you submit your first claim, so it can be a bit of a pain to get that going. Once you get everything squared away, you get reimbursed quickly. My only suggestion is to include grooming services, i'd happily pay more to have that included.

Grateful

i have been happy with nationwide Pet insurance. There are other cheaper pet insurance products, however Nationwide is consistent and predictable. Margaret gets wellness exams twice a year and 100% covered. She is a very heathy, Happy Wheaten.

Expensive and Slow

Pet insurance is not cheap, but for the price you pay, it shouldn't take a month to get your refund!

So glad I bought this pet insurance!

I’m so glad that I bought this coverage for my fur baby, Porter. Frenchies come with all sorts of potential breed-specific medical problems, and without this pet insurance, I might not be able to pay for the health care and emergency care my little one might need. Usually, I’m sent the reimbursement on my claims in 2-4 weeks. The whole claims process is easy too. Best coverage for the price and well worth it.

THE ALLOWABLE BENEFIT AMOUNT IS REDICULOUS

I am finding that your allowable dollar amount on illnesses or accidents is totally absurd. You limited my benefit payout to $ 370.00 for Mia and those 2 bills cost me way more than that. . And you held back a ridiculous amount on my Mattie's claim. . I paid more than that in the vet visits for both dogs. Well over 1000.00 in less than 2 weeks.. I pay you each and every month for 2 pets. You don't seem to mind taking my money but then you limit my reimbursement. And I know you have a benefit schedule I was already told that from your representative. when I called. Well the idiot who made up that schedule obviously never had a sick pet. I find this whole thing very unsettling and quite offensive. I don't know how you stay in business? Never mind, I do now, you extort the customers.

I’m so thankful to have had Nationwide Insurance

We were out of the country when we got a call that Wicket would need surgery due to having an umbilical hernia. It was extremely stressful to be on the other side of the world, 15 hours ahead, and not know what was happening to him. When they told us the estimate for the surgery, we almost died at the cost. A small price to pay for him but thank god we had this insurance because it ended up covering a little more than half. I will always recommend nationwaide ort insurance to any pet mom/dad.
