Best Pet Insurance, Hands Down
I'm so thankful you this Pet Insurance. We were not sure if we could afford the added expense of a pet insurance policy to our household budget. But thank God we did!!!! HealtyPaws was the best pet insurance for the money. Our little pug Rocco who just turned two needed two major surgeries. Healthy paws were with us every step of the way. They check in with us to ask about Rocco and processed the claims in a timely and professional manner. Their online app is very easy to use. Thank you healthy paws for everything. Little Rocco thanks you too!!

Great Pet Insurance
I am very pleased with my policy at Nationwide. They cover a lot of expenses and are very prompt in paying claims. I am obsessed with the welfare of my dog and having this policy gives me peace of mind in knowing that I will be covered if anything should happen to her.

Wish human insurance was this simple
I wish human insurance was this simple. Our pupper has allergies and odd reactions to medication and it's wonderful to be able to be reimbursed for his care so quickly and easily! When he developed a histiocytoma we were able to get him seen without worrying it would be a financial burden. I hope nothing about your service or pricing scales changes now that the company has been bought by a larger one.

Very unhappy with reason given why monthly charge increased.
Very unhappy with reason given why monthly charge increased. I was never notified and had to call my bank to question the amount of withdrawal and who issued it. Therefore I am looking around at other pet insurance companies.

Getting very expensive monthly.
Getting very expensive monthly. You say it doesn't increase with number of claims but that's not true.

Self Employed Consultant
Nationwide has been very easy to work with thus far. Claim turnaround is fast. Customer service is nice and pleasant on the phone and I always get a person to talk to. The only thing I wish they would do different is extend more coverage for the heartworm and flea protection in a given fiscal year - I use Trifexus for both my French Bulldogs and it's $25/mo. They cover $75/year and that gets expensive.

While I would appreciate claims being paid at a greater percentage, Nationwide makes filing and collecting on a claim super easy
Problem with all insurance, including pet, is that the prices charged by doctors are so much higher than the insurance companies will pay out. Mostly pet insurance makes sense to protect against catastrophic problems and expenses. Nationwide gets high marks for ease of use and quick pay on claims.

Mixed Feelings
I believe Nationwide/VPI is a very good company but I seem to remember that they covered a lot more 10 years ago as my elder pets needed them. I did receive a great reimbursement from the dental/medical procedure my cat just had and I’m very thankful, but his ongoing disease is very expensive and I feel we max out very early in the year. Maybe I don’t completely understand the plan so I’m going to call to see if my vets and I are submitting claims correctly. I am just worried that should my pet need some procedure that is very costly and his chances are good, it would be painful to have to give him up because of cost.
