Easy peasy
It's so easy to send in a claim and payment is made so fast. Our plan is extremely affordable in a cover so much and since we have a very active and curious PUP having this insurance has come in quite handy.

Jury still out
I can't fully assess my experience as I'm new to Trupanion. Will have to see once my deductible is met what sort of response I get. I know monthly premiums are higher than the company through which I have my other 4 pets and that must be weighed against benefits.

Easy and Timely
The premiums are pretty high, and I am not always sure that it's worth it. I now make enough money that I can basically self-insure, but claims are very easy and timely.

Is Trupanion worth the monthly cost?
Although the monthly payments can cause you to think it is not worth it. I tell my friends that monthly prescriptions and/or a sudden illness , surgery or unexpected vet bills allows you to do all of the above without the worry of not having the money.

We have been paying for 2 policy's for 6 years without ever using the insurance plans.
We have been paying for 2 policy's for 6 years without ever using the insurance plans. We are paying $129.00 a month and never used our plans. We tried on two occasions, and were turned down because we were told we didn't reach the deductible.

they came through
At the begining of June our cat Molly got very sick, to the point where my wife and I started to wonder it was time to put her to sleep. Fortunately, after extensive tests and a variety of procedures and medicines, she improved to the point where she is back to old self. Of course, all this medical care carried a hefty price tag. Within a week, ASPCA processed our claim and paid back the bulk of the cost of Molly's care.

Awesome!!
Now that vet offices can submit claims on-line, the service is just like processing human health and dental claims; easy and quick with direct deposit within 24-48 hours. Has been a great benefit to us making health decisions for our dog knowing that his insurance covers most of his expenses especially the cruciate surgery. Well worth the premium for those unknown and unexpected illnesses or injuries. It does happen.

I wish Human Insurance was this Great!
I originally signed up for pet insurance as a back-up in case of emergencies and frankly not expecting it to be much help. I was wrong! We were in a situation where our 6 month old goldendoodle just stopped acting like himself - he wouldn't eat or play with us and just wanted to sleep. We took him to our vet who gave him some meds and new food and said if he did not feel better to take him to an emergency vet. After a couple of more days, we did just that. The emergency vet we took him to was great, but not cheap. They had him for observation for several hours before calling and requesting to keep him overnight, during which I asked the price of that and my eyes widened up... I immediately called Healthy Paws and asked if it would be covered, and though the rep couldn't comment on our specific situation, she said all emergency coverage is covered (90% on our plan) outside of exam fees once the deductible is met, so we decided to have the vet keep him. He is now acting good as new (for better or worse!) and I'm glad we did it. When it came to submit the claim, it was a breeze. A simple pic of the bill uploaded on the app and the approval came the next week, and the check reimbursement came 2 days later. Wow! I was worried, as with human insurance, than insurance is a scam/not reliable and am so thankful to be proven wrong. All of my future pets will have Healthy Paws and I will recommend it to any and everyone. Thank you, Healthy Paws!!
