If my dog could talk, he would concur.
Trupanion is a company that delivers. I pay a premium every month and my dog's healthcare costs are covered. Am I happy that my dog has health issues No not at all, but having a company that cares about the well being of my pet makes it a bit easier.

Lori's review
I am happy with the last and only claim I filed. However, it sounds like every procedure has a new deductible and that's not cool. I am looking into that. I hope I am wrong.

I think the most inclusive of pet insurance plans
My dog had an ear infection as a puppy and while insured under a plan my Vet suggested. Since that time I was unhappy with that insurance plan and changed to Nationwide (my other dog had always been with you). Since she had a prior ear infection and is prone to them due to her floppy ears, it is considered pre-existing and not covered. The fact that she had another insurance should be taken into consideration. With regards to coverage to other illnesses, injuries, and preventive care I am very satisfied compared to other plans I have looked at. My other dog had several major surgeries including spinal, ACL (including inpatient and outpatient rehab), and emergency laparoscopic. The cost for these were very large and I was surprised at what we received back once the claims were reviewed.

Nationwide . . . is on my chihuahua's side
I love that we made the decision to buy insurance for our little dog. It is a load off of my mind knowing that when a tough decision needs to be made it won't be made based on finances.

Greatfull pet owner
I appreciate the rapid response to my claims. Having insurance lessens the financial burden associated with a pet experiencing health issues. Thank you for your caring thoughts for Emily. Sincerely, Emily's Mom

I hemmed and hawed about which pet insurance company to go with. Due to per medical condition coverage limits and $50 per incident deductibles as well as coverage exclusions I wasn't going with this company. My friend and I basically made a spreadsheet, read reviews, etc. Coverage for exam fees was important to me. I work at an emergency/specialty vet hospital and the exam fees start at $175. I did not want to find myself in the position of having to choose between taking my dog to an ER/vet vs. worrying at home. Too many times I've seen sad outcomes when owners have waited due to financial concerns. Two fellow employees chose ASPCA. After hearing that baby gates and ice packs needed for surgical recovery were covered I was sold. I made the right decision. I've filed four claims, each one was processed and reimbursed in a very reasonable amount of time. There was no back and forth asking for more info, etc. (something I frequently see with other insurers). Don't hesitate to go with this company, you'll get great coverage and equally important, peace of mind.
