Great coverage and quick payments
Great coverage and quick payments - this is exactly what we were hoping for when we made the decision to get pet insurance. The app is very easy to file claims and they update you through every step of the process. Very impressed and very relied to have such great coverage for our pup.

Embrace DOUBLES Premium every year after your dog turns 10
My premium if I was stupid enough to renew would have been over $4800 for 14yo medium (48lb) mixed breed female dog for only $8k of coverage, $1000 deductible, 80% coverage.

Very happy with Pets Best! Easy to file and nice to save on expenses
Buyer Beware
Be very careful prior to purchasing this insurance. It is good for the first 3 to 4 years, then they start increasing the rates by 20% yearly. At Age 10, it increases by 200% and then at age 12, it hits a whopping 400%. My rate went from $1,400.00 to $5800.00 yearly when my dog went from 12 to 13! You have rights, call you state insurance commissioner and file a complaint, mine in California was very surprised of this behavior and will open an investigation. Insurance companies are NOT FREE to charge what they feel, this is regulated business folks! Remember, this is your money handed over to the insurance company, pending a future withdrawal when a covered expense arises...they are investing your premium at many times the return once it is handed over to them. Also, they have quietly without notification removed the healthy Pet Discount which brought your pets deductible down by $50.00 per year for every year without claims. Mine is down from $1,000.00 to $450.00, It no longer makes sense to hold back on those claims that would be small vs a premium increase for filing...flood them with everything legitimate the policy claims they should cover. This benefit has been removed from the renewals going forward.

I spent a lot of time looking at the various Pet Insurance providers, but I still felt like so much of the decision depended on the unknowns that I was trying to insure against! So I can't really remember what convinced me to go with MetLife Pet at that time, but I've had nothing but positive experiences after this first year. I'm really, REALLY glad that I got pet insurance right from the beginning, and that would probably be true no matter which company I purchased insurance through. That being said, I've had no issues submitting claims or being reimbursed under my plan, and I'm glad I picked one that's been working so well for us.

I signed up because it was 50 $ a month…
I signed up because it was 50 $ a month and covered 90% of all visits including any doctor visit . I wasn't cheap and i selected the best and highest coverage for my pet . But now the premium almost doubled. I pay 97$ . Not only but also a claim was denied because only one time many many years ago she has crystals and never had them again nor ever had UTI but it was still considered pre-existing condition coz I went to do a urine analysis on her . Not only that but also what I paid out of pocket for that denied claim was not considered part of my deductible. So if I calculate how much I paid in premium in year and how much was covered this year. Then I paid more in premium than what the insurance covered which basically means I would save more money if I didn't have the insurance .

Don't use them. They are baiting and switching.
I paid them for my cats for over 15 years. Now they cancelled me and migrated me to a policy that only pays 50%. My old policy paid about 90 %. I made no claims for about 13 years. And so far, I have probably paid $25k to $30K for my two cats and used less than $3k. Apparently, they dropped hundreds of thousands of their insureds' policies, mainly those who were elderly, or maybe already had some health issues from what I have found on the internet. For me one of the biggest reasons for having this was to have peace of mind when they got older. I cannot go to another company now due to pre-existing issues now that they are old. I am getting constant commercials for Nationwid right now. It is like putting salt on the wound, and I can't bare to hear them advertise about how much they care. This is obviously one fat lie. They take your money when they are healthy and drop you later leaving you poorer and in the dust. Shame on them. In Massachusetts there is a class action lawsuit re this.
