It was so refreshing when a real live agent took my call! She answered my questions and guided me in picking the right options for me and my pets. The overall concern for me were the unexpected costs that can occur, being a single fur parent I need to make sure cost isn’t the biggest factor. This gives me the most peace of mind!

Raising rates to excess
Raising rates to excess . Pay for 7 years once you need to use it they raise rates. You can’t get another insurance or everything is preexisting conditions at 7 years old . Terrible I will never use them again for any of my animals . Rate. Not raised a little but excessive beware . I expect there excuses to start . But I work in the pet industry my self what is excuses . I will not recommend them to any one any longer . All my recommendations will go to other ones I’ve learned are not so shady . Yeah you can lower a little if you take a huge detectable and they pay less lol I purchased them due to being same company as Geico. I’m thinking of also changing my car insurance now too. They know we are stuck due the preexisting conditions . Pets only live so long . So I’m not going to pay more for pets insurance than do my car . Crazy .

The process to submit an application for pet insurance was so easy. It's also nice, as an employee of Nationwide Insurance, that I was able to receive a discount on this insurance & have it taken directly out of my paycheck.

It was quick and easy
It was quick and easy! You told me what I was and wasn't getting for my premium. Some of the other optional benefits didn't explain what I'd get at all - 'You'll get a payment right away for you to chose how to use it' - is that payment $200 or $2000 - in what instances if I'm suddenly sick or injured would I not get it. Tell me what I'm paying for - and you did that!

Brutal premium hike after one year!
We purchased pet Insurance with Spot last year shortly after adopting a cat. The rate was good $182 and claims were promptly paid. After one year in which we had claims that approximately matched our premium they have boosted our premium to $500!!! Not sure why this drastic increase in price came about and i couldn’t understand the woman who took my call at the call center due to her heavy accent. I’m extremely disappointed in Spot Insurance do to our > 150% rate increase…
Claims don't get paid in a timely manner
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this insurance to anyone. Our claim got declined for our pet I submitted all the paperwork that they requested and after the claim got declined it's still unclear what else they needed. I had all the vet visit paperwork that they needed and all the bills that I paid for out of pocket it's unfair that I am paying for insurance and it didn't get approved. Just disappointed I will be canceling my policy and going elsewhere.

Why we love Healthy Paws
We have had our Healthy Paws insurance for our dog, Jax, since he was a puppy and it always gave us a feeling of security knowing we had excellent coverage in case anything ever happened to the most important part of our lives. Almost ten years later we found ourselves facing Jax needing to have two hip surgeries over a short time span. He had excellent care and his surgeries were covered at 90% by Healthy Paws (based on the coverage plan we have). He is now going to have excellent rehabilitation to ensure he heals well and builds the muscles he needs to live a healthier and pain free life and Healthy Paws covered that as well. We were reimbursed quickly following our submission and it gave us such peace of mind. I would recommend Healthy Paws to every pet parent and will always have coverage for all my pets. Submitting claims is incredibly easy using the app and customer service is very responsive to questions.

Most of the pet insurance companies are a scam. They r expensive and not worth it! Cancelling fetch pet insurance or changing ur policy is sucha hassle. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone!
