(Un)Trupanion - Next Level Scam Artistry
After 14 years of paying significant premiums with this company, I recently found out they were charging me almost double because my spayed female cat (named Marilyn) was mis-categorized as male. This resulted in significantly higher premiums over the course of 14 years. The company now refuses to reimburse any of the extra fees paid, claiming it was my fault for not noticing their error. Every single dealing with this company has been a battle. You are expected to be an expert-level diagnostician when making a claim, as virtually all issues are considered as 'new', meaning you will be subject to always paying your deductible, even if a condition was related to a previous claim. Every which way, this company has skewed things to their massive advantage. You don't stand a chance. The ONLY reason I am still with them is that after 14 years, I may actually be coming close to getting my premium coverage worth. Close. But what a struggle. They are masters at changing the game whenever it suits them/disadvantages you. Would never recommend them again.

Wonderful pet insurance to have!
I recently had to make a claim for the first time since I got my pup 6 years ago and so far Ive had a wonderful experience. They are fast and the claims have been approved very easily which makes it a lot better to deal with. I would definitely recommend Trupanion to anyone that has a pet, wonderful to have when the times comes and you need them. So worth it!
