After an appeal, they came through for me.
I was a new client and we'd only been insured for a month or so when Vinny suddenly stopped eating. I thought he was grieving the loss of his friend who had recently died from cancer. After ten days of not eating, I nearly carried him into the vet hospital (but he walked in); surprisingly, he had hookworms. Many tests were run on him bc all his levels were not normal. He was dehydrated and needed to be hospitalized for three days on I.V. fluids. I really thought he wasn't going to make it, but he did! The insurance company rejected payment at first bc of some confusion; however, after an appeal and another 6 long weeks of waiting for the review, they came through for me and Vinny and reimbursed us! I knew that was the right thing to do, but i honestly figured they'd be like every other insurance company: take your money and never pay out. But they came through and did the right thing. I am very grateful and would recommend them to anybody who has pets and can't afford huge, unexpected, life or death situation-type veterinary bills. I would hate to have to put my dogs down because i couldn't afford an emergency medical treatment plan.

Grateful My Cat's Insurance Pays Their Part
Recently, my cat's vet closed her practice and went to work for another clinic. I took my cat to that clinic for the dental work she still needed, that involved removing 4 teeth. It took awhile to get all the paperwork from the new clinic to Nationwide, but once it was all there, which is better to send by e-mail than Fax, the claim was paid fairly quickly. I have now switched to a mobile vet who brings the clinic to us, because the trauma of going to this distant clinic is too much for her. I'm hoping the claims process continues to work smoothly.

Everyone should have this coverage for their pets because it is amazing.
We have had Nationwide coverage since our Australia Shepherd was born. We have the wellness plan, so they cover everything! We even had Riley genetically tested for a condition that often afflicts his breed, and they covered that too. It's nice getting money back on all of our vet bills, and the claims process is a breeze. But ultimately the best part of having this coverage is knowing that I'll never have to make a terrible decision about my dog's health care based on what it might cost.

Never worked with a better insurance company!
Nationwide has made life so much easier for me and my two cats. Anytime they have had medical problems, I simply submit the bill from my veterinarian and and all covered expenses (actually, MOST expenses) are paid via direct deposit into my bank account. I have never had a problem with them. It is so gratifying to work with an insurance company that I feel puts the needs and well being of my animals first.
