I recently had an issue with my dog that Trupanion denied the pre-approval for even though I provided justification for the coverage and they already approved and paid the first claim relating to the issue.

I recently had an issue with my dog that Trupanion denied the pre-approval for, even though I provided justification for the coverage and they already approved and paid the first claim relating to the issue. I then tried to appeal the claim, had my vet clinic call them (as they also feel this claim should be covered), only to be denied again and then told that I essentially have to get the procedure done to appeal the claim as pre-approvals canât be appealed. I am very disappointed that I pay all this money to the insurance company and then get denied for something that was not known to me prior to getting coverage.
