Recommendation to have insurance for your little friend pet!

I went to get my little female puppy and not even 24 hres later, she felt off the couch and broke her left femur ! It was very stressful but Vétérinaire got everything on the go for her to go under surgery ! So there we are going to Québec city in Daubigny vet hospital ! The estimate for the surgery was close to 6500$ plus the 1100$ for the emergency room to get her check out at first in my vet hospital ! Just to tell you that I got very close to 5000$ back!! So it's worth it to anyone that have pets, get them insured!! For their unconditional love do it!! They can get sick or have an accident very quickly ! ! So think about it ! ! Have a great day! Exceptional Coverage for our Epileptic Dog

We adopted our ACD mix as a puppy and signed up for Nationwide pet insurance right away, and I am grateful we made that decision to this very day. Our pup, Sprout, was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy shortly after his first birthday and Nationwide has made managing this tough illness so much easier financially. They have covered numerous ER/ICU stay when his cluster seizures have gotten bad. Not to mention MRIs, spinal taps and coverage of the many prescription medications we've had to use to control Sprout's seizures. Sprout is 4.5 years old now and Nationwide has supported us every step of the way. I highly recommend them to all of my friends/family with pets.

Healthy Paws Quick Response

I have a policy with Healthy Paws because a veterinarian told me it is the one she uses for her dogs and she thought they were excellent. My experience with them has been excellent, as well. My dog had to have a very expensive endoscopy. In an easy process, I submitted the claim online to Healthy Paws. Their response was immediate, the approval within 48 hours, and the check in hand within a week.

There is nothing worse than this...

There is nothing worse than hearing your pet needs surgery due to a recent bad "jump" out of the car for a walk. Watching my sweet 6 year old limp broke my heart. Knowing that I have had her insured since she was 6 months old, and that I could afford the best care for her, because of my Healthy Paws Insurance was amazing. I tell all my friends to ensure their puppies and kittens. You never know when something bad is going to happen and you never want to be in a place where you can't afford to get your best friend the care they need! Healthy Paws even sent me an email to see how my doggy was doing after the surgery!

Not an insurance company, Criminal organization that only takes money

We had them for a year and filed 4 claims totaling close to 2K. The reimbursement from these scammers was $0. WTF!! The claims process is extremely tedious. When I filed I already got the feeling it was a garbage company. They claim to be proud of being able to help pet parents. The sad truth is that they are only proud of scamming you out of your hard-earned money. The only reason we got a policy is because we are Costco members. We will be canceling the Figo policy shortly as we already purchased a new policy with a better-rated company.

Healthy Paws Saved my Dog's Life

Healthy Paws is the reason that my dog is alive, period. I adopted a Lab/Pit mutt named Bagel when he was four months old. Sadly, when bagel was 4y.o. he became paralyzed from the waist down due to degenerative disc disease. The cost of surgery was $12,000.00 and it worked... until six months later it happened again. The vet told me his odds of survival were low and I decided to do the surgery anyway, another $12,000.00. This time... it worked. I'm so glad I made that choice. Bagel was doing fantastic for two years and now my poor sweet dog at the young age of 7y.o. has a brain tumor. He obviously has the worst luck. Ending your dog's life is something you know you will have to do at some point but certainly not at 4 years old, and hopefully not at 7 years old. I decided to do radiation for Bagel and he is now recovering. Radiation was $20,000.00. Needless to say without Healthy Paws' contribution I could have never afforded all of these huge ticket treatments. I submit my recent claims to healthy paws on a Tuesday and I had an approval Wednesday with money back in my bank on Thursday. No questions asked.... just a follow up e-mail from them asking how Bagel is doing with treatment. I couldn't recommend a better insurance company and if you have a dog these days it's absolutely necessary.

Claim processing

Please be aware that this Metlife pet nsurance will not cover anything without veterinarian's notes. My veterinarian who treated my dog, works hard and efficiently to treat sick animals, not to concoct paperwork. I had all rpaid receipts from the office visit, biopsy results stating that my dog has infection and a paid receipt for antibiotics. All this was not good enough for processing claim. Buyer, beware. Metlife insurance is looking for any possible excuse which will give them a chance NOT TO REIMBURSE.

Fetch by the dodo promises not kept

I had four Senior dogs. I started out with an annual deductible but for some reason it turned into a per condition deductible after underwriters were changed I complained but I let it go. Then one of my babies was misdiagnosed and it took three vets to figure out that she had a tumor on her spleen which was taken out and fetch did pay all the claims which I was grateful for because I had unlimited annual limit so I felt comfortable with submitting claims. When renewal arrived Tinker's policy was downgraded by 50%. No longer did I have unlimited I had a $15,000 annual limit $500 per condition deductible and only 70% reimbursement. No explanation just a congratulations your policy has been renewed but changed .Tinker died 2 months later. After tinker's death I have been very careful about putting claims and nervous every time renewal comes around .So this year I decided to only put claims in for regular chronic treatments acupuncture and cold lazer and nothing else. I emailed fetch eight times during the year asking if I was within the limits and if they could tell me the formula for downgrading -no response. So I called up December 11th and spoke personally to an agent asking them to look at the three policies I was told by the agent that all the policies were good and that there would be no changes for renewal I did not have to worry or consider downgrading their policies myself which I would have done to avoid downgrading. I was relieved , however; January 16th came around and I received an email and lo and behold one of my pups policies was downgraded! Once again congratulations but no explanation and a number to call if I wanted to discuss my options the number was an auto nation's parts department number! I called the next day and was told matter of factly suck it up or cancel the policy there was nothing that can be done there was no financial ombudsman to call or speak to no review department nothing. I asked to speak to supervisor and I inquired the chances of her policy being downgraded even more if I use it like I used it 2023 he told me he did not know that was not his department but yet he was the supervisor .He kept on repeating cost to loss ratio her premiums were low that's why she was downgraded thing I can do. But we kept the $25,000 limit annual limit which means nothing because if I use it they will downgrade me. I had unlimited on tinker and I was still downgraded so they are annual limits mean nothing. Her premiums are now even lower than they were before so the risk of downgrading is even greater if I use the strategy I used last year of just using it for acupuncture and cold laser. So I am warning pet parents if you use the insurance for claims to save your dogs or cats life be prepared that next year your policy is going to be double or quadruple like it was mine or be downgraded.I paid almost $11,000 last year for pet insurance for my three dogs who I love with all my heart and I was rewarded by a kick in the butt. Oh yes! They did renew my two older dogs because I pay $4,000 each for them. But that's no promise that next year if I use it they will downgrade them too when they need it the most.
