Approved and Paid my claim for my pet…

Approved and Paid my claim for my pet very quickly. The veterinary clinic that did her surgery didn’t accept the insurance. So I had to pay and I was reimbursed for the 90% within 3 days. Just wish they covered more than just accidents, like regular vet visits. Being what I pay monthly.

Easy to use

Easy to use, the quote was great and the functions fine just having trouble accessing the bonus that came with the insurance (Telus virtual doctor) didn't receive a code or e-mail for how to set it up.

Worth it!

Honestly, because I opened the policy so soon to my cat getting injured I was only anticipating the claim going toward my deductible, if it was accepted at all. But it was! The process was very easy. I've had a house full of cats over 20 years. This is the first one I thought I should get insurance for. It's already clear I made a good choice, not only with the insurance, but also with the provider I picked. Thank you!

Healthy Paws was great with my recent claim. I submitted my claim, they reviewed it quickly and got back to me with my coverage amount via email. I just received my check. All was communicated, resolved and paid quickly with no issues.

I took Harry to vet in February concers…

I took Harry to vet in February concers on his health, It wasn’t a wellness visit, it said on receipt sick visit. They weren’t able to give him his vaccines so I needed to reschedule for vaccines. I brought this to the attention of the vet and she said spot could call and they would tell them first visit was sick visit. When I called after submitting the wellness receipt I spoke to a young lady, who I knew her English wasn’t very good and I knew she didn’t understand my concerns. My question was I was now paying for 2 vet visits even though one was wellness one was a sick call. But after putting me on hold for a few minutes she said there was nothing spot could do. Over a 725.00 vet bill I only got 200.00 back, that seems a bit crazy to me. Not happy with spots reimbursement policy at all.

Stuck with decreased coverage for 10 year old dog

Update 4/13: I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with Healthy Paws, as requested in their reply. It was a pointless waste of time, the final answer was "tough luck, just suck it up”. I used to be very happy with this company, but over the 22 years my dogs have been insured with them the company has changed. I was informed that the coverage for my 10 year old dog has been reduced from 80% to 70% with an increase in deductible from $250 to $500. I am very angry about this, they used to claim that premiums did not increase due to age. They no longer claim that. In fact, new policies for dogs 6 years of age or older have no option other than the 70%/$500 they’ve changed my dog to. They still pay claims promptly but it’s obvious they’re trying to get out of the pet insurance business. They used to be an independent company, since they were acquired by their underwriter Chubb the only thing they care about is profit. If you’re looking for pet insurance, stay away from Healthy Paws.
