Worth it!
"Get Pets Best! I have no regrets, first claim was a breeze and saved me some money. So no complaints here!"
Highly Recommend
Our golden, Ella was diagnosed with an aggressive osteosarcoma at 4 years old. We had purchased Pets Best insurance a few years prior not expecting to ever need it, but wanting it to be there in a worst case scenario. Fast forward to 2025 when she received that awful diagnosis. We really needed this insurance and are so grateful for the financial stress Pets Best has lifted from us during this difficult time. We would be in a much harder place having to contemplate even treating our girl had we not been insured with Pets Best. That’s a situation no pet owner would ever want to be in. Pets Best has been a saving grace for our family and we couldn’t recommend using them for your pet insurance more.

Great experience
We were hoping we’d never have to file a claim. However, we did and it was painless.
Trupanion Reassesses Ailments As New Conditions to Have Deductible Applied Over and Over
If I could rate a zero, I would. I have a 14 year old flat-coated retriever that I have insured with Trupanion since she was 10 weeks old. We rarely submitted claims (and in 90% of the cases that we did, Trupanion just applied costs to the deductible and we did not receive any coverage), until our dog was 12 years old. While Trupanion states that the deductible for a given condition will be applied only once over the lifetime of the pet, that was not the case for me. My dog had a condition that appeared when she was 2 years old (we paid a deductible), when she was 4 years old (again paid a deductible) and most recently when she was 14 years old (and again had to restart the deductible). The term "chronic" condition was shared with me repeatedly. So, if you dog's condition is not chronic, but appears randomly (same symptoms, same treatment, same outcome), do not expect to be covered. Additionally, Trupanion is now delaying processing and payment of a claim for a condition that we have submitted and have covered for the last 2 years. Finally, Trupanion also increased our premium just after I submitted an appeal on the repeated deductible on a condition for which I have already paid. Please ensure that you consider other insurance providers when looking for coverage for your pet.

Routine denial of claims for no legitimate reason
We adopted two kittens, brothers, at the same time, with the same completely clean medical history. They soon showed symptoms of parasites (almost certainly from the adoption facility they were in). One of their claims was approved and the other was denied, citing a "pre-existing condition". We ended up needing to spend over $10K on emergency vet services to keep our little boy alive and MetLife covered exactly none of it, due to this supposed "pre-existing condition". We would've saved more money and headache by foregoing the insurance altogether.

Healthy Paws Medical Coverage
We have been using Healthy Paws to insure our dog's healthcare for about five years now and have always found their coverage reimbursements to be generous. Their Client Services department is also top-notch.

Paisley
"I was fostering Paisley 6 years ago and trying to get her adopted. However, she seemed to pick us instead! We already had 3 rambunctious dogs but she wiggled her way into all our hearts and we adopted her. Last fall, I realized that she was starting to get older and may have some health issues, so I decided to get her insured with Pets Best Health Insurance. Since then, Paisley has needed extra medical care 3 times and each time, Pets Best was there to help cover the costs. Unfortunately, she is now facing some difficult health challenges, but I feel confident that Pets Best will be there to help me keep her stable for as long as possible. "

Pets Best - Paid but Delayed!
I did have to resubmit my claims and my claims got delayed what felt like three or more times. I do wish the process was slightly more expedited but I felt submitted the claims was simple enough.
Good affordabe coverage...slow to process and pay
I think Pet's Best is a good company. The coverage is great and affordable. Claims are processed fairly, and filing claims is easy. That being said, they are extremely slow to process and pay.
