I am so happy my family purchased insurance. Having pet insurance saved my dog’s life. I really cannot think of the outcome had we not had it. Spot has been great with quick turn around on review of claims and reimbursement. I am thankful, truly.

Quick Claim Process
It was relatively simply to submit my claim. Additional information was needed for one of the girls, but I contacted the vet and submitted the extra information. The claims were paid quickly and were a substantial savings in the care of my furry babies.

Refunds take a while, but good customer services on the phone.
It takes a LONG time to get the refund checks. I understand the propensity for fraud, but I don't like having to produce SOAP notes for Rx refills or having to have a new set of notes every time I buy Rx food. I am glad that I have the insurance, as I have 2 Frenchies and they go to the vet frequently, mostly for allergy-related incidents. When I have called MetLige Pet, my experiences have been positive and the representatives have been kind and helpful.

Spot has been helpful in some ways
Spot has been helpful in some ways. They do not seem to actually review high cost concerns, and you have to appeal for reimbursement. Such as last year my dog needed a root canal, which Spot will cover the tooth being pulled but not a root canal, however it being a broken K9 it was not recommended to be pulled by either vet. Spot did not want to cover any of the procedure because it was labeled as a root canal, even though they would’ve covered almost the exact procedure if the tooth was pulled, ie sedation, images, medications, etc. Spot also does not provide any information why something is or is not covered/reimbursed at the end of a claim. You have to go through their customer service to get answers on any claim. Now that there are several other pet insurance companies, I will be looking into others to see if there is better or easier coverage.

If you use the insurance the premium goes up
We've been with Fetch for 4 years and never had a problem until our dog had dental disease and had teeth removed. Shortly thereafter we received notice that our premium doubled with less benefits. I called and was told it was because of the use. Holly is only 4 and pretty healthy in general but apparently the teeth extraction was too much. I asked him "So we're being penalized for using the insurance we pay for." The answer was yes. He said it's like car insurance. If you use it, it goes up. He offered me a deal that I turned down. If I used it we'd be right where we are now. I canceled. Just be aware of how this works.

Pain free and easy claim process
Filing a claim was really easy and I received exactly the amount back that I was expecting. I couldn’t have asked for it to go better.
