Terrible insurance

Out of 10

If you select this insurance company expect to fax in your claim multiple times. PetPlan can't seem to receive claims or associate your claim with your file even using their claim form. They don't pay on much and seem to use the pre-existing condition clause for just about everything.
Total waste of money; save yourself some grief and open a bank account for your own pet insurance.

I will agree with you on the horrible customer service and claims process for sure. They do have one of four very good coverages/policies on this website, the others being Pet's Best, Healthy Paws and Trupanion. I have had Pet's Best for years and they have very good customer service, VPI I had way back when they were the only pet insurance (yes, I am old) and even they treated me great and covered a lot of things but now they are not even in the running. I do still feel that pet insurance is worth it. All you have to do is have one emergency, one terrible thing like cancer or kidney failure happen, which is devastating, but pet insurance will cover most of the cost and it has saved me thousands of dollars over the years, even including all the payout to the company, I still came out ahead (money-wise) in the end. Unless you're rich I'd advise having SOME kind of pet insurance. I had great customer service with Pet's Best, but the coverage is not as good as some others I mentioned including Pet Plan. That said I am about ready to stop Pet Plan due to the horrible service, EVEN keeping in mind the fact that now another insurance would most surely call something a pre-existing condition for my pet and not cover it. Even then, I'd opt for good customer service and paying more, rather than horrible and rude customer service!
