I've been paying this insurance for over a year now without having made a claim. Then, I made a claim on Aug. 9th and STILL have not been reimbursed almost a month later. Granted, it was only for about $130 but that's what it's for, right? I've had previous pet insurance with another company, who's name I can't remember as it was a long time ago, and the turnaround was amazing. Not sure I will keep this insurance....I may have to go with another one.

Have you tried calling or using the website to check the status of the claim? I've definitely been in the situation where the fax didn't go through, paperwork was lost, etc. I've submitted a number of claims and have ALWAYS received prompt payment. And the few times I had questions, Pet Plan has been super helpful every time I've called their hotline and I normally have to wait only 1-2 minutes to get someone on the phone.

I absolutely agree with Christi.Also, I, too, put in a claim around that time, and it took longer than usual, because they had an unusual backlog of paperwork.
They are truly a wonderful company.
Our kitty passed on from complications due to a hidden cancer. They paid the maximum amount we had taken out for her. Don't know what we would have done, otherwise.
Don't give up on them too quickly!

I filed a claim and once they got all the vet's records they were on top of it! Maybe you should call and see what the status is. Mine was a lot more than $130 and they were quick about the reimbursement!!! I have been very pleased.

I agree, call or email. Unless there was a deductable required or a denial, but even so they always send a letter.

Always ask for a medical record review immediately after enrolling. This accomplishes 2 things. You'll know on the front end if there are any pre-existing conditions not covered and can cancel the policy within 30 days and get your money back. Also, when you do finally file your first claim, they won't need medical records and it will speed up the reimbursement turn around time.
