VPI - Reliable and Professional Insurance

My young border collie was constantly itching and chewing on himself, so I took him to my vet for a check up. My regular vet suspected either food or environmental allergies and referred me to a veterinary dermatologist. The dermatologist also suspected skin allergies and suggested allergy testing. The allergy test itself and the purchase of allergy injections was around $500. I filed a claim with VPI and my claim was processed within a week! I was able to go online at the VPI site and view the explanation of benefits and exactly how much I would be reimbursed. The reimbursement check followed soon after - so soon that my vet hadn't even sent me her bill yet! I paid less than $100 out of pocket, and that included having to meet the deductible. I couldn't be happier with the service I received, and I recommend VPI to all of my friends who own pets.

I'm glad to hear that your dog was covered but I am curious to know how your border collie did with the allergy testing. Was there an underlying allergy?
