We've had VPI for 3 yrs for our Lab and Golden Retrievers. The lab decided to play with a copper head and managed to get bitten. A trip to the emergency vet was followed by a trip to her regular vet 2 days later after it infected. VPI paid the majority of all costs promptly. All payments were right in line with what the literature says they will pay if you have basic coverage. If you want comprehensive coverage it's available but it costs more up front. If you want the basic accident/injury coverage for your pets to take the "bite" out of the bills (sorry I couldn't resist) then it's available. We chose the less expensive option and have been satisfied with it.
