My 1 year 3 month old dog spontaneously came down with some stomach problem where he had blood come out of places that it basically shouldn't have been coming out of...if you catch my drift. I took him to the ER 2x in one weekend and, living in Manhattan, the hospital is insanely expensive (it's like $180 just to walk in the door before anyone even sees your pet). The 2 days worth of x-rays, lab tests, prescriptions, etc. came to around $900. I went to the hospital with the claim form & medical release form printed out and had the hospital staff fax my forms right there on the spot. I literally had a check in the mail for $700 in my hands about 6 days later. It was by far the easiest and most reassuring thing ever. You don't want to be that person in the ER waiting room more worried about your wallet then if you can afford to get your dog an x-ray. Definitely recommend PetPlan...no ifs, ands or buts.
