Our first Labrador had many health issues including a heart condition which ultimately took his life. The cost of treating Duke was over $5,000 for one year! We made a decision that our next Lab would be covered from day one. Even though we purchased Clancy from a well known breeder,he has elbow dysplasia. We now have 4 animals covered with VPI. Although the "reasonable" fees are not in line with my vet's cost, we are glad to have insurance cover the surprises like non-cancerous tumors and "hot spots". The turn around time on the paper work is excellent; the fact that you can fax your information and check the status on line is very welcomed. Thanks VPI!
