I've had VPI since we got our dog Diego Garcia 4 years ago. We were a 15 year cat family. Out cat fell ill and of all the options, I chose the cheapest one versus surgery or laser. He lived probably 1 1/2 year after diagnoise. I vowed if I got another pet, I would have pet insurance so I wouldn't be tasked with making difficult decisions for my "kids". When we got Diego, new VPI offering came available through my work and I immediately signed him up. He's been healthy, thank goodness. Just minor skin problems, eye infection. But having the insurance is weight off my shoulder. The reimbursement is fair and quick for my claims. I did have to pay a deductible for one treatment, but it was worth it compared to cost without insurance. If I one wish, it would be to deduct the treatment at the vets office, versus the reimbursement. Similar to "human" health insurance, "your cost after insurance is...", but I know that's not so easy with pet insurance as it is with health. Glad I have the service. I just love Diego to pieces !!
