PetPlan is fantastic - super fast, and super honest. I decided to insure my small (15 lb) mixed breed terrier when he was about 2 yrs old, when my older dog started having all sorts of health problems. I thought it best to be prepared this time. So I went online and saw horror story after horror story, but then saw great reviews for PetPlan. I decided it was worth it, even tho it didn't cover preventative, because it's the unexpected stuff that gets you. I also decided to get the underwriting done as soon as I enrolled (submitting all the pet's medical records, determining if there are any pre-existing conditions etc.). I wanted to do this right away, instead of waiting until the first claim, because I knew I would be addled enough if my dog got sick!

Then, at 3 years old, at his annual exam, I mentioned he was becoming a finicky eater and was vomiting every few months. The vet did an ultrasound. Guess what? She suspected IBD, Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I had to submit an exhorbitant claim for bloodwork and diagnostics. And even though I had that letter, I was still nervous. Any deceitful insurance company would try to get out of paying, and point to the normal amount of vomiting that had occurred earlier and was on the submitted re
