My dog recently had an eruption of ringworm all over her body and was absolutely miserable. I had to do three separate trips to the vet because the vet was unsure on whether it was staph infection or ringworm. After figuring out what my dog had and treating her accordingly, my overall vet bill was $425.
I signed up for pet insurance through Petplan a year ago, so I wasn't sure on how easy it would be to file a claim. However, to my surprise, filing my claim was really simple. I just contacted a rep at Petplan, who informed me that all I had to do was just fill out a one-page claim form that I could download onto my computer and fax that form with all of my invoices from my vet. A day after I sent my fax in, I received an email from the company letting me know they had received my claim. I was then able to track my claim and see when it went to accounting. Within a week and a half of filing my claim, I received my reimbursement check in the mail.
I am definitely a fan of Petplan and can understand how they are ranked so highly among other pet insurance companies.
