PetPlan denied a legitimate claim

My cat broke his jaw shortly after we started coverage. The waiting period for illness is 14 days, the waiting period for injury is immediate. A broken jaw is most certainly an injury, not an illness. My cat was vomiting after it occurred and had to have several teeth extracted because of the broken jaw. His medical records clearly state that his jaw was broken, but petplan tried to say it was an illness and that he had a "dental" done and denied the claim. When I called to find out why, the person who answered was very rude and did not help me at all. I am in the process of trying to appeal, even though it is ridiculous that I should have to appeal what is clearly in the medical records. So we'll see how this turns out... I still think this is awful customer service and terrible handling of a claim even if we do win the appeal.

This sounds exactly like the Pet Plan that I've come to know. They do their best to not pay you for anything. When they do pay you, it is often a lesser amount than owed to you and its like pulling teeth to get the rest of your money from them.
