I own 4 French Bulldogs and along with Frenchies come skin problems. Prior to the Frenchies, I didn't have pet insurance and when an emergency arose with one of our older dogs I was faced with a possible emergency vet bill of $5,000. I know VPI doesn't cover everything but their premiums are pretty reasonable and it does pay towards yearly shots and preventative meds. It does take some education to learn how deductibles work and to be sure that diagnosis' by the vet are consistently documented exactly the same as the prior diagnosis to ensure coverage. I personally like the "peace of mind" knowing that I have a safety net should I need it. Claims are processed quickly and reps are always happy to fully explain any questions you might have to ensure your coverage will apply.
