I have been a policy holder for at least 7 years and have had 6 rabbits insured through VPI. Although I would like to see the limits on coverage raised for certain things, I am glad to have the insurance. When my first bun had to be euthanized, I was so surprised that there was some coverage for cremation and that there was reimbursement for the balance of the policy term. I find that it is helpful to request and receive records so that they can be faxed to VPI with the claim form. That eliminates a potential tie-up with reimbursement. I would like to see some things covered that are not (i.e. parasites) but overall, quite a bit is covered. The fee schedules, at times, can be a little confusing (primary/secondary columns), but one phone call to VPI and it can usually be explained fairly simply. I am an adoption coordinator for a shelter and I tell all adopters about VPI. I know for cats and dogs there are multiple options, but that is not the case with rabbits. For this review, I had to check off whether I have a dog or a cat because there was no box for "other" pets. I have the best of both worlds-- rabbits with the personalities of dogs but with the excellent litter box habits of cats.
