I have been paying for insurance for my two cats and one dog. Over $100 per month for over 6 months. My first claim for my cat was denied for about $300 because I was not able to locate any previous vet history on my cat from his previous owner who passed away. They flat our wont cover any of it. Not worth the $600 I already put in for coverage. Pretty upsetting!

I'm a little confused about this. We adopted our dog as a 4 year old and were required to submit records dating from the start of coverage - we also had no access to prior records. We've been covered for everything submitted to date because of the records from his current vet. If you submitted a claim for something that pre-dated your vet's records, then it would make sense that the claim would be denied.
Veronica,
We’re never happy when we have to deny claims for one of our clients. All claim decisions are based off of your pet’s medical records and the signs/symptoms that are noted by your veterinarian. We use a pet's medical records and notes written by the attending veterinarian to determine if there are any pre-existing conditions which would keep us from approving a claim.
In cases with an older pet where a pet parent cannot obtain their pet’s previous medical records and only has access to the most recent medical history, we will use a pet’s most recent exam as his enrollment exam. In this case, since we did not have the records which corresponded to the enrollment exam date you used at enrollment, it meant we could not provide coverage for your pet’s condition.
