We had PetPlan for our dog, Happy, for around 8 years. When he was around 9 yrs old he had bladder stones which required cystotomy. The surgery and related care were covered by PetPlan at 80% after deductible, and it was a great relief for us financially. During the holidays last year, Happy started exhibiting different medical issues one after another. Since our policy with PetPlan was very good, we did not hesitate to pursue medical tests and treatments for him. In a period of 7 months, Happy was diagnosed of Cushings, blindness, and chronic GI issues. In the end, either due to his age or the many medical issues, Happy's system started to shut down, and we lost him a month ago. Even though Happy did not survive, we still feel fortunate that we were able to provide the medical care he needed. Without PetPlan's coverage, we would not be able to do that for our fur-baby. One comment I have is that even though PetPlan's policy covered prescription food and medicine, I did not submit claims for much of Happy's prescription because it was too troublesome to get his vet's signature/approval every time we needed to refill his medicine or purchase his prescription food. I wish there was a better way to get those items covered. Nevertheless, we still would recommend PetPlan.
