I've had a policy for my dog, Tallulah, for about six years and I never used it until recently. Last fall she was diagnosed with pituitary hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's disease). Peplan covered about $950 (out of about $1,300, I think) of that round of tests and exams to figure out what was going on. We got her symptoms under control and she was doing well until about five weeks, when she was suddenly extremely lethargic, getting up only to eat and go to the bathroom. $3,300 worth of tests later, we discovered that she had a 1.3 cm tumor on her pituitary glad. The only treatment that works is radiation. Our local vet referred us to an amazing radiation oncologist at UC Davis, and he administered three doses of radiation, three days in a row. That was three weeks ago, and I'm overjoyed to say that Tallulah is already showing improvement. And Petplan is covering about $8,000 of the total $10,000 that we spent on tests and the radiation. I highly recommend Petplan. They don't nickel and dime on the claims -- they just calculate your deductible and your copayment, and mail you a check for the rest. It's SUCH a relief to have such thorough coverage when a beloved family member needs expensive medical care.
