Luxating Patella- Kaylee's Story

I am lucky as I work at a veterinary hospital and have access to wonderful vet care. However, after having seeing so much come through our door, and seeing the impact that expensive veterinary costs can affect you, I chose Petplan for our insurance after reviewing and comparing several companies.
Kaylee is a wonderful Australian Shepherd( 13 months old) who lives to be a clown, and was diagnosed with a luxating patella. I am so glad I chose PetPlan, it made the whole process a little easier to take, and piece of mind that the bills would be covered in a timely manner.

Even though we followed all of the restrictions for recovery post op, we had a pretty rough go of it.

We had a rough time with the MLP surgery, as first one did not take. Had to do a second surgery on her, and two days later, still had issues with the patella luxating. She had to undergo a third surgery...Two more pins, and releasing the muscle along side her knee, then tightening the tendon and fingers crossed.

So far so good, and we are working our way up to two 15 minutes walk per day. We still have a long way to go, and really appreciated all the support from PetPlan. In a little over a month's time, PetPlan has paid substantial amount from the claims I have submitted, and the process was relatively easy and painless.

I often refer my clients to PetPlan when they are shopping around for insurance, and do not hesitate to tell them our story!

Thanks again,
Kim and Kaylee
