My Wheaten Protein Wasting Scare

Having shown and bred Wheaten terriers for the past 24 years, I understand all of the genetics signs associated with illnesses inherent in the breed. So, when my 4 year old Wheaten, Piper, began showing signs of chronic kidney failure, I immediately took her to my veterinarian who, fortunately, has lots of experience with the breed. A battery of tests were run and both Addison Disease and PLE were finally ruled out. I did not have pet insurance for my last Wheaten, Allie, and I spent in excess of $10,000 trying to fight a kidney condition called PLE in the last months of her life. I swore I would never go through that again. So when I got Piper, I also got a policy from PetPlan. Next to Piper, it's the best purchase we've made!
Thank you!
