PetPlan was nothing but helpful when my youngest dog Tazo had a lump on his leg. After conservative treatment, then X-rays reviewed by a radiologist, referral to a specialty clinic for a CT scan, he was diagnosed with OCD. PetPlan answered all my questions clearly when sending in the claim and paid promptly. Surgery was recommended and they did a pre-authorization in just a couple days, allowing us to not worry about so much about cost when making our decision. Although we did not elect to go with surgery due to it's poor prognosis for Tazo's particular joint, we know we can count on PetPlan to be easy to work with as we explore other treatment options for Tazo. People do need to read carefully and ask questions on all the different pet insurances. They are different from people insurance, but I found PetPlan did clearly state the deductible is per incident or illness (horse insurance is the same) and after using their program on the website to see how a claim is paid you can see they figure the copay and deductible different than people insurance. Then you buy the plan knowing how it works up front so there are no surprises.
