Feeling confident with my cat's insurance

I had 2 older cats who developed chronic illnesses during the past few years, and eventually died after long, incredibly costly care and heartbreak. I chose, at that time, to insure my new kitten. After reviewing the choices, I decided on Petplan, but because I'd never done this before, I was a bit nervous about how it would go. Last month, she developed a skin condition, and I worried -- would she be okay? Could I count on the insurance company? I was scared on all counts. The good news for her --- it wasn't serious, and she responded well to treatment. The second good news --- Petplan did what they said they would --- I got a check for the full amount I expected, minus the deductible. And I breathed a sigh of relief. My only concern was that I was told it would take about 2 weeks to process, and it took 5 weeks -- they said they had an unexpectedly high number of claims, which I hope they will address soon. Assuming they continue this otherwise good beginning, I'll happily stay with them. My delightful, feisty kitten is in the hands of a fantastic vet and a trustworthy insurance company.
