Pet Plan to the Rescue

My first huge claim filed with Pet Plan was for my 3-year-old boxer mix Georgie who I found had mast cell tumors right before Thanksgiving. Two surgeries, two pathology reports, two biopsies, a blood panel, and an ultrasound (etc) later I had about $1,800 worth of vet bills in under a month. This was on top of the nearly $200 bill Georgie's brother Reagan ran up because of a broken nail 10 days earlier. Needless to say, I was already planning on how no one in my life was getting Christmas presents until February and was ready to stock up on the rice and beans for the next two to three months. I filled out my claim forms, organized Georgie's records, and submitted a claim expecting maybe half back. You tend to think the worst with insurance companies if you've ever fought with one to cover this or that. Less than 10 days later, I had a check for Georgie's first set of bills (less my $50 deductible) and his entire second bill for his second surgery was covered too. I was floored, thrilled, and ecstatic. There was no arguing, no fuss. Literally just filled out the paperwork properly and they covered it with no questions asked. I will forever be a Pet Plan client. I would do anything to make sure my two boys are healthy and happy, no matter the cost. It was really nice though that during the holiday season I didn't have to make any sacrifices to make that possible. One illness or accident and a plan pays for itself!
