Poor coverage... read fine prnt.

Out of 10

My dog is covered for illness and I keep up with rountine care, testing, and vaccinations. We got our dog one year ago from rescue shelter and he was heart worm negative. I have kept up giving him Trifexis . With yearly updates, i found out he was positve for heartworms. My vet tells me that sometimes you can get a false negative ??? Pets Best tells me that heart worm treatment is covered on routine/wellness care ONLY and will NOT cover his heart worm treatment. I am sorry, my dog contacted heart worms when I did everything right and is no longer WELL. He is recoveing and will be looking for another insurance!!!!! My vet has given me some recommendations.

Heartworm should be covered (as any other preventative) when the prevention medicine were given but they didn't work!!!! You are ripping people off. I just received a survey to fill out for why I didn't choose you as my insurance carrier for my dog. Instances like this are the reason and your overall bad reviews.

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention, Ms. Schnepel. In our contract with our underwriter, and the policy that was sent to you, it clearly states that we cannot cover a preventable condition, including the treatment of parasites, including heartworms. We appreciate your business, and are happy you chose Pets Best to cover your pets. We hope that the explanation above helps alleviate any confusion, and will help you reconsider coverage for future issues, as our policies do provide very comprehensive coverage. Please feel free to call us with any questions! Sincerely, Pets Best Customer Care 1-877-738-7237.
