Good communication and a good result

My Golden Retriever became ill, vomiting and diarrhea - took her to our vet and they ended up keeping her overnight and giving her an I.V. My first submission for a claim was denied actually, but they explained what I needed to do to "appeal" the claim; that is, provide more information from the vet, which I did. Once I sent the additional required documentation, the claim was then approved and paid. So, at first I was dissapointed that the claim was denied but then they worked with me to turn it around. Thanks.

First, I would not let the Retriever eat anything so the intestines would actually close up or flatting up. Once the intestine calms down. It just like a humans, don't even give it water the first day. Second day try to give it yogurt plain or vanilla with Kaopectate a Anti-Diarrhea put it the yogurt-2 tablespoons.Give small amounts of water also. If the dog stops the diarrhea add some rice(cooked) to yogurt, and reg. amount of water.3rd.day cook up some hamburger that is not lean add to rice, yogurt, she will be hungry. Stay calm when around her as she will pick up on your stress level. She probably picked it from another dog or where it walked. I make people make take their shoes off as you don't know what humans bring in your house on the bottom of their shoes. I have had this happen to one of my dogs at training and come to find out the woman told every one her dog was sick and still brought her dog in for training. Schutzhund work, so these dogs are all worth a lot of money. This why I train my dogs my self with the trainer for 12 years. The worst place is a day care puppy/dog center. But I have been raising dogs for 39 yrs, and now have a soft mouth Golden Retriever that was a show pup. The owner raised them for 40 years and died from smoking(cancer). So I was given the dog for life with the stipulation he is going to be stud, that is why he cannot be fixed-blood lines-block heads and a very big pup...
