Within 3 days of bringing home our new puppy, he almost died of distemper. Although he checked out normal at the vet on the way home from the breeder, and he came with a complimentary pet secure trial, we were extremely disappointed that because the vet had not activated the insurance on the day of the exam, they were not able to compensate. How do we have any control over when the vet faxes in the activation??????? very unfair.

I just adopted an 8 week old kitten and 6 weeks free Pet Secure came with it. I activated the insurance 2 days after I got him Sun. July 15/13 and then he became sick & I had to take him to the veterinary. On Tues. July 17th all hope was gone and we had to have him euthanized. I called Pet Secure and found out there was a 48hr waiting period and we just missed it. I ended up having to pay $655- out of my own pocket for expenses including the adoption fee... Very sad..
