I have had Pet Plan for all my dogs for the last 5 or 6 years I think. They have been WONDERFUL. I adopted a blind schnauzer in late 2008 (cataracts) which eventually turned into glaucoma by early 2009. I decided to have him undergo double enucleation over putting him down but it was incredibly expensive (over $1000). After all, he was already blind. He wasn't going to miss his eyes. Technically, they should not have covered it because 1. It is a condition common to his breed and 2. his cataracts could have caused it to be labeled as a pre-existing condition. However, they took into account that I had adopted a special needs dog and covered almost the entire amount of the surgery (I applied for Care Credit to cover the rest at the suggestion of my vet who does not offer a payment plan). Pet Plan takes into account the person and the pet, case by case, not just the "client number" and their payment plan. They are an incredible company to have on your side and I trust them wholeheartedly.I will back them until they cows come home.
For the record, his name was Franklin and, even though I only got to have him for a little over two years, I never regretted putting the money into him to take away his pain without taking away his life. I still miss him every day. Thank you, Pet Plan, for allowing me to keep one of my best friends in my life for as long as possible.
