I have been a VPI customer since 2005. It was then that I purchased a policy for Indy, my black and tan miniature dachshund. Indy had two treated incidents prior to coverage that resulted in two exclusions - VPI was very thorough in their explanation of these exclusions. I have the option to contest the exclusions now that he has been nearly 7 years without a intestinal blockage or eyelid lesion. Indy was diagnosed with skin cancer at 1 year old. The resulting numerous surgeries and tests that followed over the years would have been extremely difficult without the help of VPI. It was reassuring to have a knowledgeable insurance provider to discuss treatment with in addition to his vet. I liked knowing that VPI also wanted the best for Indy as much as I did. We purchased Paulie Walnuts, our wheaten wire hair miniature dachshund in January of 2007. There was no question that he would also maintain a policy from VPI. While he has not been as high-maintenance as his brother, I know that if he ever needed it VPI would be there to support us. I recommend VPI to everyone I know. They care about me and my pets: we get birthday cards for the boys every year!
