our experience with Trupanion

my experience with Trupanion was about the same a the other pet insurance companies I've used in the past. One provides all the neccesary imformation when sending in a claim.Trupanion then requests the same information from the Vet a second time.again. All in all,it takes about 3+ weeks to receiev your claim amount.

Hey Reva. Thanks so much for the feedback!
We definitely do our best to make sure we aren't duplicating work you've already done, as we want to complete claims quickly just as much as you want them completed quickly.

Looking over the notes on your policy, it looks like your claim forms have frequently been submitted without the veterinarian (part b) section completed. We always need to have that section fully completed, as that's the vet verifying that they did indeed see this pet for this condition. We also need to make sure that we are getting the complete medical records, with the doctor's chart notes. The chart notes are what enable us to be sure current issues aren't related to any past issues that may be considered pre-existing. The doctor's notes typically aren't sent home with the patients, so even though you've sent in everything the vet gave you it's not uncommon for us to have to request further info from your clinic.

To help speed up my personal claims, I have a claim form in my file at my vet's office with my section already filled in. Any time I have to go to the vet, I just ask the doctor to fill in the part b and then fax it over to Trupanion with ALL of my records since the last time I was in. Then Trupanion has all of the documentation right away and is able to process the claim quickly. This has worked really well for me, and the vet office staff is happy to file everything at once for me rather than have to possibly send more info later.
