Our dog had an expensive and frightening emergency visit for eating a dozen chocolate cookies soon after we adopted her that led us to look into pet insurance. Little did we know that this visit would be used to deny claims for unrelated "allergic reactions" three and four years after: the first for a vaccine reaction and the second for skin allergies. Appeal claims have taken up to six months with little communications from PetPlan.
PetPlan will do its best to not record any claim. Our vet is kind enough to fax claims from the office, yet every (yes, every) claim is returned, often multiple times for "missing information." I only hold on to this plan because I hold out a small sliver of hope that it might be useful for a major accident at some point, yet PetPlan would probably claim that even that was due to an allergic reaction.
