I am totally satisfied with VPI. I've had VPI for my Pug, Cuddles, for almost 9 years and have never had an issue. Back in October of 2011 I had to make a 4-1/2 hour trip with Cuddles to see a neurologist due to IVDD. Cuddles had to undergo anesthesia to have a MRI done to check severity of the bulging disc and two days later had surgery on his back. Once back home the claim that was submitted to VPI totaled just shy of $4000. With a quick processing time I received almost $2900 back. No issues that I had submitted 3 separate dates on one claim. Plus a few months after they processed the claim I received a 2nd check in the mail has they had reprocessed and had shorted me by about $70. Unlike insurance for humans where there is a provider adjustment this is not the case for insurance for pets. Then no complaints from me as I made sure that I read all information prior to signing Cuddles up. Would I ever drop VPI? NO... With Cuddles getting older vet bills are occurring more than I would like. But hey, I love my dog more than anything in the world and there's nothing that I wouldn't do for him. I strongly encourage other pet owners purchase insurance for thier pet(s). If not through VPI than another carrier. Just look into policies and compare.
