PetPlan really comes through in times of need!

Let me start by saying I have 2 dogs and 2 cats insured through PetPlan. We went with them after a lot of research, and decided on the Silver plan with a $200 deductible. I've always looked at insurance (auto, home, health) as a mostly necessary evil, but PetPlan has actually made me say that I love an insurance company (I know that sounds silly, but it's true) - and here's why:
We have always given our pets the best preventative vet care available to us, but we had dealt with cancer with a couple of previous pets and had a couple of emergency vet visits which made us realize that those types of medical situations add up fast. We have (fortunately) only made claims on one of our dogs in the 2.5 years we have been with PetPlan, but boy have they been significant claims! A few months after insuring out pets, our then 7 year old labrador retriever was diagnosed with arthritis in his hips and spine. The vet put him on Rimadyl with regular bloodwork and checkups to make sure his liver function stays normal on medication. PetPlan has covered ALL of his arthritis treatments AND medication minus the annual $200 deductible without fail for 2 years. It has kept Sherman (our lab) active, mostly pain-free, and able to go on family hikes with us until just recently when the arthritis seemed to be getting worse than what the medication could compensate for.
