Maui (my female Labrador) came to us in 2006. Right away I signed her up for VPI on our first vist to the Vet. Over the years, she has had ear problems and itchiness. For every visit we went to, I immediatley would send in my claim and would get reimbursed within 10 days. As she's gotten older, she's 5 now. I have increased her policy to the premium plan. Our reimbursements are now 100% provided we haven't exceeded the cap. I understand her policy so well now only because of customer service! I tell you, it is so nice to speak to someone in customer service who is not "reading from a computer screen like a robot!" They speak with intelligence, kindness, patience, and understanding. AND, they will make sure you understand before you hang up. Because of this, I am able to "budget and forecast" Maui's expenses while keeping up to date with her insurance. Maui has just undergone her first allergy tests and order for all of her allergy serum. I'm on a fixed income and this was quite expensive for us, but, we found the money and I'm actually only expecting about 80% reimbursement because I know that she actually used up some of her coverage for the same diagnosis within this year. So, I know that up front. I'm managing my expectations! How great is that! I love their Facebook page too!
