My giant dog, Otis, has the terrible habit of swallowing everything with a preference towards gloves and socks. I try to monitor him vigiantly, but he still manages to ingest what he shouldn't. In Jan , he woke me up at 4:00am after vomiting what appeared to be a very large tube sock. He seemed fine if a little restless, so I went to work. When I got home, he vomited several more times and didn't eat his dinner (a first). It was after my regular vets hours, so I took him to the emergency vet, where they monitored him and kept him on an iv. In the morning he had an ultra sound to determine if surgery was necessary. Thankfully, it was not, but I now had a $1400 vet bill. I filed my claim with Pet Plan, and within one week had a check in hand for the full amount less deductible. I thought Pet Plan might short pay, due to the extra expense of the ER, but that is not the case. I couldn't be happier with Pet Plan. I wish my insurance company treated me as well as Pet Plan does.
