Thank you Healthy Paws

During shelter in place, as well as Easter weekend, our 3 year old cat started coughing & wheezing. We were able to get him seen at a 24 hr pet hospital. We could not be with him and it made us feel extremely worried & stressed. The vet finally called with the news that our previously healthy young cat had asthma & an enlarged heart! The treatments totaled $2700. It was such an awful position to be in...wanting the best for your family member, but having to worry about the cost. It absolutely gave us peace of mind having Healthy Paws Pet insurance! When filing a new claim, just have all your pet’s complete medical records available (we had to contact 2 other vets for previous records), including all dr’s notes. Not only did they approve our claim within a week, they followed up asking how our cat was doing. I would 100% recommend them!

Avoid this insurance company

Do not select this company. They used to be a decent pet insurance company but have failed to measure up anymore. My dog was diagnosed with a condition of his gums which is akin to an autoimmune immune disease and my vet recommended an emergency dental cleaning to remove the plaque and bacteria from his gums as it was causing ulcers on his gums. I then have to brush his teeth daily, use dental wipes and dental chews. They refused to cover the vet required dental cleaning as their policy is not to pay for cleanings no matter what the condition. They are across the board on this. This is going to be a lifelong condition for him so no cure. They don’t care about the condition except it’s their policy. Also they pay less when they cover a bill, apply the reimbursement level and then subtract the deductible. You get less if a reimbursement from them. They used to be a decent company but not any more. I got a new puppy and decided this was not the pet insurance I wanted for her. So disappointed in this company. They have gone downhill.

Absolute best insurance for our dog!

We have had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for our dog for almost 4 years and even though our fur baby has had to have multiple surgeries, healthy paws is always there to take the financial burden away. They also always send a card and/or email to make sure that she is okay after any procedure. We tell everyone we know about healthy paws and are definitely going to be members for life

Stay away from HEALTHY PAWS

Stay away from this insurance company. They would try all possible ways to NOT PROVIDE insurance benefits to the customer. When I first enrolled with them, I provided all the medical records and confirmed my pet has no pre-existing conditions. Within my first 3 claims, since they were all within my deductibles, the claims were quickly processed through. And of course, I received no reimbursement whatsoever. I paid all vet visits out of my pockets. Up until my fourth claim, once it hit the limit of deductibles, they started causing troubles with us, asking me and my vet sending all the prior lab results and past medical records multiple times. We basically had to submit similar documents repetitively to them. And even so, we complied. And the claimed took them 24 days to process. After that, they sent me an email, stating that my vet visit was due to an ongoing condition prior to my enrollment. So it was not within coverage. That was clearly a lie. The tail injury on my pet was superficial and it only occurred after my recent move to a new apartment. I was enrolled with them for more than 7 months. Plus, upon my enrollment, we both confirmed my cat has no pre-existing condition. After rounds of document exchange and conversations for this claim, I don't want to go into trouble again to call and challenge them. And this honestly doesn't even worth my time. I advise all of your pet owners out there to AVOID HEALTHY PAWS PET INSURANCE at all costs.
