Healthy Paws is terrible to deal with

Healthy Paws denied our claim because we did not get the exam within 15 days, even though they did not require that for our other dog and in spite of the fact that vets were closed to non-emergency visits due to COVID. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and go with a different company. Their customer service has been terrible, not calling as promised and break-downs in communication within their company. I have cancelled both our policies.

Healthy Paws is terrible to deal with.

Healthy Paws denied our claim, saying we didn't get our dog an exam within the 15 days of enrollment. They didn't require that for my other dog, and they are aware that with COVID, the vets were all closed to non-emergency visits. They have been giving us the run-around and finally found a loophole to deny our claim. Horrible customer service! Promised calls back that never happened, etc. I have cancelled the policies for both dogs and will never do business with them again.

Best pet insurance hands down

We had a previous dog that needed multiple surgeries over time that ended up costing us nearly $10k. After he passed, we swore our new pups would be insured. Healthy paws was highly recommended by our vet, and that was 7 years ago. We've had nothing but praise for the way they handled claims, followed up on sick pups, and were just so easy to work with. Over time the claims process got easier and faster, and now days I have a direct deposit within days of submitting and that was even with major TPLO surgery one our furbabies had to have recently. I just wish my own medical was as easy to work with.

The best pet insurance experience.

We have two American Cocker Spaniels, adopted in 2014 at the ages of 3 and 5 at the time. We started them with Healthy Paws right away and have been completely satisfied with our experience. The ease of filing a claim and the response time is superior in every way. We would highly recommend this pet insurance company.

I highly recommend Healthy Paws pet…insurance and here is why!!

I highly recommend Healthy Paws pet insurance. I took out insurance on a healthy 3 year old adopted dog from the local Humane Society. A few months after I adopted him, it became apparent that he had significant seasonal allergies and was started on allergy immunotherapy (not Cytopoint or steroids) but actual immunotherapy). Healthy Paws covered the testing, immunotherapy and medications at my initial 90/10 plan rate later I changed to the 80/20 plan.He had a “normal” annual physical exam in March of 2020 but in April he was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer and IBD which is apparently similar to Crohn’s in humans. I can say that the cost of emergency care at a University small animal hospital, diagnostic workup, surgery and prolonged care including around the clock tube feedings and medications at home as well as local follow up visits/labs, chronic medications etc is enormous. And no one wants to be faced with the heart breaking decision to euthanize a pet/family member due to inability to pay for medical care. So far, Healthy Paws has continued to cover the expenses at my plan rate. It is extremely easy to submit a claim, just take a picture of the paid invoice and upload it to HP through their APP. The claims are handled in a timely manner and I have had no significant problems. Occasionally they will need “further documentation” and that can be obtained by having the institution send documentation to HP or I am able to send it by email. When you are caring for an animal on an around the clock basis, you really don’t have time to manage tedious claims, etc and HP makes it as easy as possible to do so.
