100% thankful I went with Healthy Paws

Healthy Paws deserves the most enthusiastic 10 rating I can give. I did quite a bit of research involving pet insurance before settling on Healthy Paws. Several articles I read about pet insurance suggested this was the most reputable company out there, however a small one. A personal conversation with the owner of the company settled all my worries about it being a smaller company, (they have a significant underwriter among other strengths). We signed up for the 90% coverage when our pure-bred was roughly three months old. We are SO grateful that we were proactive with this because about half a year later, he developed a series of ear, eye and skin infections. Each time, we had to take him in, get treatment, and the little guy was practically living in an Elizabethan collar. We finally realized there was likely a larger problem and switched vets upon further research. The new vet informed us that our dog was likely suffering from allergies. Who knew that so many infections could be the result of allergies? So we got our pup a blood allergy test and had him put on his first serums at that time. Healthy Paws covered 90% of the test and treatment, minus the office visit and $100 deductible. The first claim took about a week. But every claim since has been only a few days. Our pup was great for another year and a half, until we moved to a new house where the infections flared up again, this time with more severity. We were referred to a vet that specialized in dog dermatology

Caring, Compasionate Awesome Company!

Healthy Paws is the most caring compassionate company the people who work there truly care about animals. My 3yr old Fur-Baby Lucky (he is a 80lb Lab/Pit mix) had to have not one but both of his ACL's repaired within 6months of each other. I can't thank Healthy Paws enough for all of their help with NO questions. I thought for sure I would have been cancelled when he had to have the 2nd one done so soon...but just the opposite, they were great from start to finish right down to sending an e-mail a few days after surgery to see how he was recovering. If anyone is wondering...an ACL surgery in the type of dog I have is about $3600 each...it was such a relief to know that I could handle the $360 co-insurance and insure that my little buddy was going to once again be able to go on walks with me and fetch a ball. There turn around time on reimbursement is fast, for Lucky's first surgery I picked him on a Tuesday and my check from Healthy Paws was in my mail on Saturday! Every opportunity I get I tell people both those I know and some I don't about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance....If you love your best friend it is worth the investment in the event something catastrophic were to happen you never have to make a life or death decision because you might not be able to afford the treatment. I can honestly say that this was one of my most sound financial investments. Thank you again Healthy Paws!! :)

Thank You Healthy Paws!

My 7 month old Vizsla Lenny contacted kennel cough in a day care facility that turned into a slight Pnemonia and he was running a fever of 105.3. Since it was the weekend, I to take him to an emergency Vet hospital. After an overnight stay he responded very well to the antibiotics and is back to his old self. Healthy Paws was easy to work with, very fast to respond and genuinely interested in the health of my dog. A simple email asking how he was doing meant a lot to me. I signed up for healthy paws when Lenny's littermate swallowed a battery and it cost $5,000 to remove it. It's the best investment I have made in a very long time!

Wish MY Health Insurer was this good...

I have to say that I have never had a bad experience since becoming a member of Healthy Paws. They process claims at lightning speed (within 24 hours usually) and get a reimbursement check out to us quickly. As far as the coverage goes we are very satisfied with what is covered. When we were searching for an insurance provider we compared Healthy Paws to the others and we were drawn to a couple of things:1. They do not have a pre-exisiting condition exclusion for any conditions that develops after coverage starts. Other companies will cover a condition, but when yearly renewal comes around, bang, pre-exisiting condition and no longer covered. 2. They also cover meds, no matter where you get them from. Strongly Recommended

If only they would insure humans!

I have been a customer for almost 3 years. Both my dogs are covered with the high end coverage ($250 deductible and 90% reimbursement). One of the two dogs has had A LOT of things go wrong requiring advanced and expensive veterinary care and in the Los Angeles area that means really expensive. Healthy Paws has been truly amazing. Their policies are fair and transparent. They don't pay for bells and whistles. They don't pay for office visits (even if it is a specialist). They don't pay for prevention. BUT they pay everything else and do so with absolutely amazing speed. 98% of my claims take 7 days before I actually have the check!! Occasionally they do ask for additional documentation from the vet or call the vet for clarification but on those occasions they communicate with me as well and their requests are completely understandable and reasonable. Right now they are paying for my one dog newly diagnosed with Cushings Disease and a mucosele on the gall bladder. The meds alone for these 2 conditions run almost $200 per month. Let alone all of her eye drops following glaucoma surgery which they paid for -- in the thousands. The customer support team are amazing folks. They are helpful and will truly help you get every dollar that is coming to you. I even got an email asking me about how this one dog was doing. Conceivably it was computer generated (like their birthday wishes) but I don't think so. Either way - I have never been asked how I am feeling
