Healthy Paws | Pet Insurance Review

We opted for Healthy Paws insurance after doing a fair amount of research online. We are so grateful that we chose Healthy Paws b/c after having the insurance for 4 months, our 7 month old Hound-mix (Maddy) had to go to the animal hospital for a severe GI bug/fever/diarrhea issue. When we took her to the vet, she was shaking uncontrollably and we didn't know what was wrong with her. She was kept overnight for IV fluids, antibiotics, X-rays, blood work, and stool samples. $1550 later, we were concerned about how much money we would be reimbursed. My fiance's car had died the week before and we were trying to plan/pay for our wedding in 2 months. So Maddy's illness came at a horrible time. Healthy Paws had a $1220 reimbursement check in the mail within a week!! It was an amazing relief. My fiance & I recommend that you get the 90% coverage plan; it pays off when you might need it the most. Maddy has made a full recovery and we will absolutely keep her insured with Healthy Paws for the rest of her life, as well as insure any other dog we might adopt in the future.

Healthy Paws Pet insurance was one of the best decision I have made. My pet is my child, so when I found out that she had to have surgery, I was worried, stressed, and sad. On top of worrying about my dog, I also saw the medical bills rolling in. The Healthy Paws family made sure that during this crazy time, that the claims were taken care of in an easy, no hassle, timely manner. With in 3-5 days of filling out a claim, I received a check in the mail. And, to top it off, they sent me emails asking how my dog was doing after her surgery. When I started looking for insurance for my dog, I checked out several different companies. Then I talked to a friend who has several animals and recommended Healthy Paws and I couldn't be happier.

When our baby was ill this past February with a vomiting, diarrhea and then bloody stool illness, we were very concerned for her. I had recently purchased Healthy Paws Insurance just as a precautionary measure (thinking I will probably never need to use it), but I was relieved that I had. Two days of testing and observation, quickly ran over #$2000.00, but Healthy Paws contacted me via e-mail immediately and took care of everything once the Vet's office sent over the records, and within a week we had reimbursement. The kind claims specialists contacted me daily to make sure everything was okay and this relieved us of the excessive financial worry of our dog's illness. Hi Healthy Paws people! I'd love to write a review for your company, because I honestly feel your service and customer service is OUTSTANDING. My dog had bi lateral elbow surgery for elbow dysplasia. She is in her 4 week of recovery. With all the xrays, blood test surgery and follow up Dr. visit I would never have been able to afford to have her fixed if i didn't have a policy with Health Paws. I'm so greatful for the super quick turnaround for reimbursement as well. It is so simple to fax in the bill and with in a couple of days (usually the next day) you awknowldge that it you received it and that it is being processed. I have received emails from you checking on my dogs progress and just simply stating you are thinking about her and me as well. Thats more then i got from the vet office that did the surgery. I am a dog walker and have reccomended your service with complete confidence to many of my clients and anyone that i see with a puppy. I know for sure 2 people I have met in passing on a trail with puppies have signed up for Health Paws. They told me so and thanked me when i ran into them again. I have a 6-month old miniature pinscher named Lola. I knew having a dog of this breed meant extra care because of her tiny, fragile little legs. Back in January when she was 5 months I thought I better get ready for the unexpected and start looking for insurance for her. I researched for weeks online and felt that Healthy Paws was the best choice. Boy was I right! Easy to read and understand policies, amazing and affordable coverage, how could I go wrong? Well unfortunately literally a month after enrolling her, she had an accident in the backyard and fell off of a high ledge she jumped on, breaking her radius/ulna. I flipped out not knowing what was going to happen to my poor baby, taking her from an emergency vet to her regular vet, waiting to see what would happen with surgery. Healthy Paws was there for us all the way. They handled our claim in such an efficient manner. The claims staff is so quick and so caring, I got all of baby Lola's reimbursement checks back in less than 2 weeks. I was amazed, relieved and so happy. Kudos to the claim manager, Jen, for being so caring and taking time out of her busy schedule to check on the parents and the pup. =) 10 paws up for Healthy Paws!
