Totally recommend healthy paws.

I'm a student with a limited income and my dog means everything to me. Getting my girl insurance was one of the best decisions I've made. My doggie is very healthy but turned out to be an orthopedic mess. Healthy Paws has helped me greatly in providing her the best medical care available. She has undergone surgery for both elbows and recently got her ACL repaired, and healthy paws has covered 90% of these two expensive procedures.

They are good, but have been slow to pay claims

Healthy Paws gets a "9" instead of a "10" because we've had several claims for repeat treatments relating to a UTI -- and it has taken too long to recent the reimbursement checks. Longer than a month for the most recent claim. The coverage is good and the premiums are reasonable, so I can't complain too much.

So glad I found Healthy Paws when I did

Get pet insurance! I cannot tell you how invaluable it has been for me and my animal. Actually, I can! Let me tell you my story. I grew up with many, many animals. Most of them were 90-100% outdoors (dogs, cats, horses...) and not one of them (specifically the "house" animals) ever got sick or in a bit of trouble in their lifetimes! I was the prime candidate for thinking "Pfft I do not need pet insurance." But shortly after finding my Bengal kitten, and after months of unemployment, when I finally landed a job, I thought "yanno, it's $15/month, what do I have to lose, especially in these early years." I now pay about $21/month after several years with Healthy Paws, but I will never cancel my insurance with them. Little did I know that I would have so many interesting troubles with my furbaby! And furbaby he is to me. We've gone through a leg amputation, several urniary tract problems, and other minor "emergencies" that all forced me to put in a claim with my insurance. Not only are they extremely quick to process my claims, they are so completely empathetic and sympathetic of whatever new situation we happen to be in. And they never fail to send a personal email asking how we're doing once everything is said and done. The level of care I've received from Healthy Paws these last 4+ years has been everything to me to help me take care of my animal and making sure I'm not in some pickle that would force me to either put him down or find a less-than-desirable solution to his issue. Some insurances cover the basic/preventative care and some cover the emergencies. This one is the latter. I'm not sure if there are insurances that do both, but in all my research and re-research over the years, I have not found a better value or company than Healthy Paws. They have my lifetime support for any current and future pets, that's for sure!

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance the best!

I lost a beloved pug in 2009 and not until the fall of 2012 was I emotionally ready for a new pet. Turned out I adopted two 8 week old pug litter brothers. Love at first sight and continuing always. Anyhow, I did due diligence on pet insurance since I want to give them the very best. It became readily apparent that Healthy Paws was the best of class....at least on paper...so I immediately enrolled "the boys". During the intervening 5 years we have only had a few minor insurable issues and I have been singularly impressed with Healthy Paws. One of the pugs, Little John, recently blew out his left rear knee ...in a dog sense...with a luxating patella which made him into basically a three legged dog. Fortunately, I found a board certified vet surgeon who specializes in orthopedic surgery-not cheap!. Little John was operated on Sept. 19 to the tune of $3,300. I submitted the claim on Sept. 21 via Healthy Paws super slick and easy online procedure. Claim was approved 2 days later covering 90% just as they promised! Subsequently, Healthy Paws representatives have followed up on Little John's well being via email which is a very nice caring touch. So not only can I attest that Healthy Paws is the best on paper, but also in reality.. Consequently I can't recommend Healthy Paws highly enough and encourage all those seeking pet insurance to do a careful review of all the offerings and their fine print vs Healthy Paws. You won't be disappointed,.. By the way, Little John is doing fine two weeks out!
