How to Save Money at Albion Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
We are deeply grateful to this veterinary clinic for their kindness, attentiveness, and professionalism, especially in challenging situations. A few days ago, one of our German Shepherds, Lucy, developed a hematoma on her ear, and blood started accumulating rapidly. Despite the clinic being close to closing, they welcomed us and provided immediate care. The veterinarian carefully examined Lucy and took all necessary steps to ease her condition. Two days later, we returned for a follow-up visit, and once again, the team was attentive and thorough. They patiently answered all our questions without rushing and explained the treatment options clearly. We have been coming to this clinic for two years now, and with two German Shepherds, we’ve had our fair share of visits. Every time, the staff treats us with exceptional care and professionalism. I also want to commend the reception staff for their friendliness and warm attitude. It’s always reassuring to know our pets are in such capable and compassionate hands. Highly recommend this clinic!

They are okay if you are in a pinch but your usual vet isn’t available. I took my dog here for an overall check up after she had an event… the vet wouldn’t even get near her. It was almost as if he was afraid of her. (She is a small dog. Weighs less than ten pounds and has never even growled at anyone) He told me to hold up her lip and he looked from across the room at her. Then told me they would have to pull at least nine teeth. After all the other checks, they told me she was perfectly healthy. When my usual vet opened up again I took my dog into them and she doesn’t need anywhere close to nine teeth pulled, and they found a heart condition. So yeah she is not perfectly healthy. Seems like they just wanted to pull nine teeth to make more money.

This place was honestly great when I had an emergency with my cat and he needed stitches. They got him in super fast, and all the staff were very caring and good with him. I felt like they really cared about my cat, and as hard as it was to leave him when he needed anesthesia, I never felt like I doubted who I was leaving him with. They were good about going over the pricing with me, making the breakdown easy to understand, and giving me some options based on what I could afford. I looked at the price-breakdown thoroughly, and all of it made sense to me. Vet care isn't cheap, but nothing in that breakdown struck me as unreasonable, I didn't feel over-charged. The staff remembered my cat when he came in for post-op check-ups, and were very sweet with him. They genuinely took my nightmare situation of an injured cat and made it as smooth as it could possibly be. I'm really grateful.

We’ve had a very difficult situation with our elderly cat and this vet was honest and open with us. We also have a young cat who was having some problems and he helped us right away and quickly. I trust this vet, he's not just trying to make more money, he actually genuinely wants to help animals. He gave me a lot of good advice about preventive care and disease prevention.

Dr Bedi and his team are the most caring and wonderful caregivers our pups could ever ask for. From regular upkeep and vaccines, to emergency situations, we’ve had nothing but excellent care and professional service. Thank you for all that you do!
