Quick & Easy
The website was easy to use and understand. The options with explanations was great. I feel so much better knowing that my pets can get the care they deserve and I can save some money on vet visits and things.

Won’t cover a legitimate claim
I’m extremely disappointed with MetLife Pet Insurance. One of my cats swallowed a Nerf pellet, which required surgical removal. This is an obviously a foreign object ingestion case — something that is clearly listed as covered. MetLife denied the claim, insisting it was a “pre-existing condition,” which makes absolutely no sense. They tried to point to her recent vaccines as a reason for pre existing, even though a literal Nerf foam bullet was surgically removed from her stomach. There is nothing “pre-existing” about an accidental foreign object ingestion. They later claimed they needed the exact date and time when the ingestion happened. I explained that it occurred sometime between her vaccines and the emergency surgery — a window of two days — and that she lives indoors. The veterinarian even wrote a letter stating that it’s impossible to know the exact time or place of an accidental ingestion, and that the foreign object removal should be sufficient proof. MetLife still denied the appeal, again calling it pre-existing. At this point it’s clear they simply do not want to pay out on a legitimate, medically verified claim. This has been a frustrating, time-consuming, and honestly shocking experience. I would strongly caution pet owners to think twice before trusting MetLife with their pets’ health needs
